Your metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories – the higher your metabolic rate, the more energy you will burn. Here are some ways to boost your metabolism for Fast Weight Loss.
High Intensity Exercise
To increase your metabolism you need to get active with exercise. I recommend that you choose high intensity exercise – whether it be cardio training or weight training – and the higher the intensity the better. The greater the intensity, the more calories you burn during the workout. In addition, after your workout is finished, your metabolic rate remains high for many hours – thereby burning more calories at rest. For high intensity cardio, I recommend interval training, in other words, high intensity bursts followed by 30 – 60 second rest, followed by another high intensity burst and so on.
Examples include stair climbing, sprinting, using a jump rope, or riding a bicycle. For high intensity weight training, I recommend you do compound exercises (such as the squat, deadlift, chin-up, etc.) and keeping rest periods between sets to less than 60 seconds. One of the benefits of resistance training is that you increase your lean muscle mass and this in turn raises your metabolism, i.e. you burn more calories while resting. In summary, both high intensity cardio and high intensity resistance training are incredible for Fast Weight Loss.
Eat modest Portions Often
If you alter your nutrition plan from your staple 3 large meals every day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) to 5 – 6 smaller meals, dispersed 2 – 3 hours apart, you will maintain a high metabolism 24 hours a day. It is important to ensure that each of these smaller meals contain the right nutrients in the right quantities – i.e. 1 portion of lean protein, 1 – 2 portions of complex carbohydrates and a small amount of healthy fat. By eating this way, you will not confuse your body, ensuring that your body will perform at its optimum and will reserve energy for other purposes. To make sure that you eat smaller portions, you should use smaller plates and remove the temptation of second helpings! By eating this way, it will benefit your Fast Weight Loss plan.
Eliminate Restrictive Diets
Minimizing your calories through restrictive diets should be avoided for many reasons; it can reduce your metabolism significantly, and also leave you tired and weak. Restricting your calorie intake puts your body into starvation mode, causing you to conserve energy 24 hours a day, which in turn reduces your metabolism . Your whole body basically comes to a standstill . The healthiest eating strategy to support fast weight loss is to eat small portions regularly throughout the day. By eating in this manner , your body becomes more efficient at burning your energy.
